Begin the story at home 〰️ Continue it in the gallery
A series of audio cards created in partnership
with museums and cultural institutions.
Each card introduces the story behind
an object in the museum's collection.
Children can discover the idea at home —
and continue the story when they encounter
the real object in the gallery.
The Concept
-
Context
Museums hold extraordinary collections.
Objects that tell stories of design,
invention, and culture.
For many children, these encounters are brief —
a visit that begins and ends in the gallery.
At home, those stories are often absent.
Yoto offers a different kind of experience:
tactile, screen-free, and led by curiosity.
There is an opportunity to connect the two. -
Approach
A series of audio cards developed with cultural institutions.
Each card introduces the story behind an object from the collection.
Children listen at home — beginning to question the objects around them.
In the museum, the same card continues the story in front of the real object.
The cards are also available in museum shops, extending the visit beyond the gallery.
They create opportunities for simple programming: guided trails, listening moments, and family events.
-
Result
For children
A new way of seeing the world — where every object has intention.
For Yoto
A natural extension into cultural partnerships, rooted in storytelling and experience.
For museums
Deeper engagement beyond the gallery,
and new ways to connect with families.
For retail
A product that belongs in the museum shop — collectable, educational, and tied to the visit.
